Sesame and Honey Healthy Snack
Nothing better than a healthy processed sugar-free snack. These traditional Greek sesame-honey treats named "pasteli" are the perfect energy booster.

- 1½ cups sesame seeds
- ¾ cup honey
- orange or lemon peels
- ½ tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 3 cloves
In a pan, cook the sesame seeds over low to medium heat. Stir continuously for 5 minutes until lightly golden brown. Remove from heat and stir some more until seeds cool down.
In a small pot add honey, orange or lemon peels, cinnamon, cloves and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove peels and cloves and mix well seeds with honey.
Line a lightly greased parchment paper, pour the mixture and place another greased parchment paper on it (like a sesame sandwich). Place the mixture in silicone molds (providing cavities are not too big) or on a pan or on a table using a rolling pin to spread it out.
Use your imagination and give the desired thickness and shape.
Let it cool for about half an hour and carefully remove the top sheet. Use a knife to cut in shapes you prefer. Store them in airtight food container preferably with parchment paper between them.
